I would appreciate it very much if anyone knows whats going on with my computer. I was going to add some ram to my computer and when I put the extra ram in my computer it wouldnt load properly. when I booted up for about the first 10 seconds it was fine but then it started to beep continually???? It won't even get to the start screen....any ideas???
You need to match the speed of the RAM and make sure you purchased the right type. Try pulling the RAM modules out and swap them and see if this still happens. Generall a faster module in front of an older slower module will reduce its speed to match that of the older one when placed ahead of the slower one. In short swap bank 0 with bank 1 or DIMM 0 with DIMM 1.
Hello there... If computer beeps continually after inserting new RAM then your motherboard "does not like" that type of memory. Try buying RAM that specifically works with your Motherboard. You probably bought generic RAM, right? Adonis

I have tried three different kinds of ram....including the same ram i had in there when it was working and it is still beeping??
I had a prob with ram too, but no beeping tho, it just wouldn't recognise the new ram, so i ended up with the same amount ram, with the new ram inserted. maybe your board is freaked up , and you need a new1 ! hope ya fix it !
Have you gone into the bios and gave a look around to see if everything is correctly configured for the addition of new RAM?
clear the cmos & make certain the ram is seatted all the way as sometimes the middle section might not go all the way to the bottom of the socket

yeah It just goes beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep....and so on and so forth......i have tried different ram and the same in all the different slots and rest all cords and cards?????? what is going on??
it sounds like my disk drive is trying to boot up but it just clicks and doesnt turn over then the comp starts to beep
I had a Gateway product and they told me if its continuous beeping then your motherboard is fried...it just happened to me and I had to get a new computer and back up my drive...after a while it just shut intto hibernation mode continously and you'll never get back in....go to Best Buy and bring it to geek squad or call 1800-433-5778 and they can help but it costs.....
