So, I downloaded a show in a 720p x264 format with an mkv container. I was going to watch it on my 360 which doesn't like the mkv container. So I demuxed it into a raw x264 stream and ac3 audio stream. Now from my understanding the only way I can remux it into a .mp4 container is to convert the ac3 file into a aac (LC)file. I also need to change it to stereo (im told its the only way the 360 will play it) and preferably all of this with as close to the originals quality as physically possible (384kbps). I can't find a good guide thats up to date, most of the guides I found referenced an early build of Nero 6 (apparently my Nero 7 wont work) and I'm sure there's better methods out there by now.
Never tried it with MKV, but you can either try to convert the original video to MP4 or just the AC3. Drag one or the other onto the window and select the output container.
