need help converting xvid to mpeg Help!

    I got an xvid encoded video and i want to put it on my smartphone. the problem is when i use tmpencoder to convert it to mpeg format the video come out but the sound is not there. As far as i can tell the audio is in mp3 format but i dont know why the sound wont come through.

    please help!

    tmpencoder?
    TMPGenc or mainconcept MPEG encoder?
    Probably that AVI had AC3 sound , which you can read but which your encoder can't.
    Do this: open the movie with VirtualDubMod and do Stream__Stream list. You'll see which kind of audio sream you have.

    i dont have virtal dub mod. do you know of any encoder that can fix this for me?

    TMPGEnc has issues with VBR mp3 audio. Decode before converting, frameserve or use a different encoder.
