i have 2 files of the LOTR movie with avi extension (XVID format). an error always occured when i tried to burn the first part(cd1) to a vcd. i have tried several method, like using besweet and tmpgenc (read it from this web), using virtual dub (Tried to change it to divx format 1st). But when i work with the second part of the movie it work really fine. when i tried to convert the format from XVID to DIVX with virtualdub, the following error message occured " virtualdub crashed, the reason: Integer divided by zero". what is it mean?.
and what is the best way to make a vcd from divx / xvid with minimum quality reducement? i have read several guides (convert with divx compression, separate the audio and video, then joining them back again using panasonic mpgencoder to create the MPEG-1) and the guides from this web, using g-spot, besweet and tmpgenc.
    thank you very much.

first of all, the first xvid file is damged!! can be repared with divfix or avifixed which you can get at divx-digest.

Secondly, for great results DVD2SVCD(yes this can do avi to (s)vcd) with CCE SP.! CCE SP is expensive however, like $2000.

can't repair either with divfix nor avifix.
    i've tried it b4.
    divfix causes major destruction.
after i use the divfix, the movie won't play.
(windows media player encountered an unknown error). this happened not with only the LOTR movie. but with all the .avi.
avifix, does better i guess. but, i don't think that prg really works. at my 1st attempt, it find the frame that is damaged (etc, frame 54960) and so on.
and i tried to run it again, it fixed the same frame that it has been fixed before! what a joke. I think it only detected, but not fixing the errors.
Maybe u have any explanation about this. thanks very much for your reply dela.
can i have your email address for direct lesson from the senior?? ;o) pls...
