I'm trying to FTP to my Xbox now that it's been modded, but I'm having trouble and I'm hoping that someone can help me. I'm running Mac OSX and I'm using Transmit as my FTP client but I keep getting this error message: Cmd: USER xbox 331: Password required for xbox. Cmd: PASS xxxxxxxx 230: User xbox logged in , proceed. Cmd: PWD 257: "/" is current directory Logged in to 192.168.0.2 as xbox. Cmd: FEAT 502: feat is not implemented. Cmd: HELP SITE 502: help is not implemented. Cmd: SYST 215: UNIX Type: L8 Cmd: PWD 257: "/" is current directory Cmd: PORT 192,168,0,1,192,53 200: Port command ok. Cmd: LIST -a 150: Opening ASCII data connection for ls /. Remote host has closed the connection. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Please help. Thanks.
Thanks for your reply. 1) Yes, I am using xbox as my password. 2) I have been trying to FTP to the xbox in two different ways. First, I was trying to use Transmit (because it is an OSX native app and I'm using OSX) but every time I get the error I posted in the previos message. I have tried to connect directly with a crossover cable and through a hub with a normal patch cable. No luck either way. Second, I have tried to connect using FlashFXP and Virtual PC. But when I do that I get the following error: WinSock 2.0 Connecting to 192.168.0.2 Connected to 192.168.0.2 -> IP=192.168.0.2 PORT=21 220 Please enter your login name now. USER xbox 331 Password required for xbox. PASS (hidden) 230 User xbox logged in , proceed. SYST 215 UNIX Type: L8 REST 100 502 rest is not implemented. This site may not allow file resuming PWD 257 "/" is current directory TYPE A 200 Type set to ASCII. PASV 502 pasv is not implemented. PORT 192,168,0,1,4,5 200 Port command ok. LIST 150 Opening ASCII data connection for ls /. Connection lost: 192.168.0.2 I think that that's all of the relevant info. I'd appreciate any thought folks might have. Thanks.
have you ticked to use passive mode? and are you behind a firewall? check you have your passive mode checked first it has to be ticked (on flashfxp) you'll find it in the firewall/proxy of the preferences menu hope this helps
