I just got a HD DVR from direct tv...the model is HR-22, which the guy said was a fairly new model. There is a usb port on the front, (I don't know if this is a new feature or not). I want to transfer the stuff to dvd, if possible. I have seen some guides that say to buy an external hard drive....but is that the only way. Can I somehow get the files to my laptop and convert the files to burn?
Have you made any headway in this area? I also would like to make some permanent copies of recorded material from our Direct TV HD DVR. Please let me know if you've heard of any methods for this idea. Thanks.
