Hi, I have this inspiron 5100 which is really giving me a hard time. Here's the problem. At first when I boot the computer it sounds beep beep for about 3 or 4 times and then nothing shows up on the screen. Then I press F1 and turn the computer off and again turn the computer on then it works fine. Pressing F1 I figured out myself. Also I had 256+128 mb of ram in there. 256 is not working. I checked in the bios too. I have loaded all the default settings but no help whatsoever. If anyone is coming up the with the similar issue please reply and don't change the topic. Thanks
Well, it may be because your 256 was the primary source for memory. (The one you got when you bought the computer) Now that it doesn't reconize it, it wont allow the boot. OR You can take out the 256 mem and try it again with only the 128. If it works post again and I'll see how you're doing.
