I currently have an Emachine T2080 and just got my Pioneer DVR-107D. I took the cover off my comp and noticed that the back side of my old CD-R unit looks like the backside of the DVD drive. So, I replaced CD-R drive with the new DVD drive? And left it on MA. My comp does not recognize the new hardware and the only disk it came with is Nero OEM Suite. What do I need to do to make this right? Thanks for helping the newbie.

    Hi,

If all you did was unplug power/data cables from the old drive and plug them into the new one and didn't change anything else it should be physically installed correctly.

So the drive isn't showing up in Device Manager?

Ok, comp finally recognized the new hardware. The new hardware jumper was set on MA, both my old DVD & CD drive were set on CS so I changed the setting to CS on the new DVD drive. Is that ok?
