What happens when you power the 5007 up?

Does it still say ERROR even after it is unplug from power and plug back in?
    It never says HELLO?
Is there still a firmware CD inside the drive?

If the disk tray opens when PUT IN CD displays, the drive is talking to the system board. If you have a good copy of the firmware on CD and the CD is closed (write protected) put in CD and press tray close button. The drive should spin up and read the firmware file on CD, the display will show F UP 00XX (XX is the version number as in 0040), let it update untill the disk tray opens and the display shows DONE, remove CD, leave disk tray open, unplug power for 20-30 seconds and replug in. If the drive is defective or the CD file is bad the display will show ERROR. If the drive tray never opens, check for a mechanical bind of the disk tray door and the 5007 front panel.
