alright i have dothalo(the latest version) and i mod the map that i want to (one of the new maps) and when i get finished i click on save changes and after that i ftp it back to my xbox. the problem is that i always fail to load the map. i have started from scatch many times by redownloading the maps to my xbox. i have also tried fixing the encription, but that doesn't work either. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
i have also been hearing a lot about a TDATA signing program for modding the new maps. i don't know what it is or how to use it so if someone could tell me that would be great. but if it doesn't have anything to do with my problem you don't need to explain. thanks again
Once you have finished modding your map, you must make sure you click "Fix Encryption". Then save it, and then upload it. Also, make sure you are overwriting the original map, and make sure you have the original map in a backups folder incase the mod doesnt work.
i got an unmodded map and i modded it, then i clicked on "fix encription" and i said something like encription fixed and then gave me the new encription. then i clicked on "save changes" in the "tags" box. after that i used ftp to put it back on my xbox but when i went to load it, it still said "failed to load the map". I did a real simple mod just to see if what you told me would work. i changed the projectiles in the smg to sniper and saved the changes in the "Dependencies/loneIDs/reflexives" box. then i clicked on "fix encription" and then saved changes in the "tags" box. then used ftp to put it on my xbox. which then it gave me the fail to load map thing. please tell me what i am doing wrong.
What would be better, is go to: http://www.elitemods.net/files/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=1 Download one of the Basic mods off there, it should be a .PPF file. FTP into your xbox, or ive youve got the original maps on your PC, go into DotHalo, then go to Open Map, and find the original Map file that your going to mod, then once youve opened that map, click on Apply PPF patch. A box will appear. Click on original map, and find the SAME original map file that you loaded when you clicked Open Map, and then click OK. After that click on PPF Patch, and locate the .PPF file you download off the website i gave you. Once you have done that, click ok. Next you click Apply Patch. After that you need to click on Fix Encryption. Once this is done, save your modded map. Upload it using your FTP client to the maps folder, and make sure you OVERWRITE the original map file, because you cant have 2 maps with the same name. Once all that has been done, tell me if your map loads.
yes, i know all about applying the patches and i just use ppf-o-matic for that, but i wanted to make my own mods because i have gotten bored of just waiting for people to make them. i just don't understand why it won't load the map. i have all the new maps right now in their unmodded state, if you can tell me step by step on what to do would be great. because i don't really know what i am doing wrong. thanks
