Hey, I downloaded some music videos and converted them to mpg files. I use nero express and have to burn them using the data disc option. When done, they will play on my pc but it won't play in my dvd player. I use phillips cd-r disc and my dvd player is pioneer. I don't have any problems playing burnt music cd's and movies. Thanks, Bobby
O.K. this could take a minute...lol. I downloaded music videos off limewire. They were mpeg files. I went to nero express and clicked on video cd. I drug the the videos over and burnt them. When done, I closed the rom to see if it would play. All that come up was data files. I tried power dvd and it showed the pictures of the videos, but it wouldn't play them. My brother told me to burn them using the data disc one nero and it worked, but it would only play on my pc. So then I downloaded easy/avi/vcd/dvd/mpeg converter. I tried converting them to vcd files and the burn process didn't change. Still only on my pc. So, I tried converting one video to dvd file and did the burn process again. Still the same thing. Am I not doing something right. This has got me all bumfuzzled and stressed out. Thanks
No prob, you don't learn without failure... and in my case I've had lots of it. If your DVD player will play VCD's then that should have worked, so it sounds like it won't play VCD. Do you have a DVD Burner that you can make a DVD with?
The only thing I have done is upload movies that I borrow from people using dvd shrink and then burning me a copy of it. My dvd burner options are listed as: Image recorder (dvd), which burns dvd-video files. Image recorder (cd-r/rw), which burns video cd, super video cd, and mini dvd. Then of course, it shows my brand of burner with the same options below the image recorder ones. But other than making copies of movies, not, I have never made a dvd disc. I'm kind of new to this stuff. I hope this was enough info for you to figure out the problem. I really do appreciate you taking the time to help me. Bobby
Well NeroVision does have an mpeg encoder so all you should have to do is select make dvd-video or dvd movie from nero smart start and add your files.. If you're dealing with something nero can't open you may need to use a seperate encoder, but it does have wizards and makes it easy to get started burning dvds. Also if you end up needing a seperate encoder IMHO TMPEG may be slow but it's also the best I've used, though there are other options that are freeware also so you could look into those too. Once you add the files into nero it should walk you through the rest and help you set up menus and what not. Go ahead and try that, and if it doesn't work, get back to me and we'll see where to go from there.
