Go here to the Mcafee forums. In the first two pages you should see reference to a small program off their web site the that say removes all traces. Version 11 2007 has caused many problems for many people and most of the time the simple add/remove does not get rid of enough of it and things stop working. I tried it and went back 10 version 10 2006. That still works.

hey does anybody know how to temporarily deactivate McAfee 2007??? After it was installed into my computer I can't access online gaming servers. I think McAfee might be preventing my computer from joining servers so I want to Temporarily shut down McAfee to see if it really is McAfee's fault, thnx.

Thats a big problem for alot of people. They took the ability to turn it off out. It's a real mess. Their program is messing up so many people I don't see them fixing any of it anytime soon.

The option to turn off the protections is still there, just takes some poking around to find it.
Just go to the internet and network tab for the firewall, and computer and files for the virusscan parts.

@ bkf : as far as i heard, they're working on getting back the old layout, working and GUI due to all the complaints...

Great, thanks for the info guys! I really appreciate it. I think I got a part of the program to deactivate to let me on servers. I'm still having a little bit of trouble joining servers so it may also be the game or the cd. I'm still working on it but I still greatly appreciate the extra info and input =D thnx!

I sure hope your right. My sub is up in a couple of months and I don't have a clue what im going to do. Im sure the heck am not going to blow up my computer on some $39 program. This is costing people that depend on it big bucks. Im very sad over it but you have to love managment and their wisdom.

If you dig back a few pages in their forum they actually had a help guy tell somebody to go into msconfig and turn off all his startups. I think maybe they are getting tired. It is so broke and i am so sad. i have been using them for years

    edit was for spelling Ken

hmm... well I uninstalled the game because I got into a few servers the other night, shut the computer off and went to bed. The next day I went to try it again and the same problem occured again. So I ended up uninstalling it and now I can't install it lol. It says something about Component transfer error. It said it was an audio file so... if anyone has any suggestions even though its in the wrong topic plz reply lol. But thanks for that extra tip, I think I'll try turning off my startup programs =]
