hmm i was wondering if anyone here could help me out. i own a copy of lunar silver star story complete but the damn thing is pretty scratched up by now ive had a few years. ive tried fixing the scratches first no luck (damn sensitive ps1 laser). then i remembered i have a mod chip installed on that old hunk of junk lol. so ive tried several methods to make a a bootable copy (with a bin/cue and ccd). but i can only get it to boot to the second (the black one) playstation logo. ive used clonecd and alcohol but neither of which will let me burn slower than 8x. i will set it to 1x and then it still burns at 8x = / . so any help getting it to boot would be great or at least point me to the right direction, or some program names that i can use i can find them so no prob.

If the game is damaged in the first place, how can you make a working copy? How well does the original play?

try doing a straight cd copy with nero or roxio etc., it worked for me

you can make a working copy of a damaged disc, i did it with GT2 (it took around 15 minutes to read the damaged part but it worked) probably because the ps1 laser is either sensitive like killjoy said, or because the lasers in newish P.C. drives are more advanced than the ps1's laser
