    Hey guys,

I have a divx file and I have the divx player and the divx MPEG codec...but for some reason it will only play for about 9seconds. So I ran the file thru G-spot and it says that there is a codec NOT installed on my computer. This is the codec....DivX 4 (OpenDivX)

So I have divx codec.....what one is this one?

It also says this in the FourCC box....DIVX/DX50

    Can you guys help me??

    Thanks alot

Please clarify your question. Are you asking what codec you need to use to play the full thing or what codec is installed on your computer?

    HI Sorry about that....

I ran the file thru G spot again after downloading the latest Divx Codec and now it's saying I have the codec installed...but the file will will only play for 9 seconds then the divx player will shut down.

Have you tried playing the file on another player such as Windows Media Player 9? It might be that there is a problem with the file. If it runs in another player then most likely it's a problem with the Divx player it self. Try reinstalling it to see if that works. Post back if it doesn't or to let us know how it went.

No, it won't play on any player....must be that the file is damaged.

If the file is damaged, I'm sure there is a fix for it on this site. If it was an avi file there's AVIFix and DIVFix. Look around though, I think there's a MPEG fix. Hope this helps. Post back.

    Cheers.
