....... downloading bittorrent files please. I am a novice at this; and know basically nothing.

I have downloaded the latest version of Azureus and Java; but have not installed them as of yet. In attempting to get ready, I did some research and came up with that I need to do something called 'Port Forwarding'.

I went to www.portforward.com which lays out the process. From there, I wound up with the process of setting "... up a static IP address on a Windows XP computer."

I followed the instructions but it creates nothing but problems with my computer in that it won't always load web pages; some do; some don't; yet when I reverse out the set-up process, everything works.

One note regarding the instructions at Portforward; when I do the ip address detection, in the instructions ... and also on the XP TCP/IP settings, they seem to infer that more than one DNS addresses is needed. With my system, WildBlue satelitte, there is only one DNS address reflected. So, following the set up instructions, I put in everything Portforward says to ... and leave the secondary DNS box in TCP/IP blank.

Can anyone assist me please. I'm lost..........

    Thanks

    Chuck
