Ive done my research and i think the parts ive chosen are all compatible. here is what i have: Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811121052 Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128358 CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116072 RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122 Graphics Card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130339 Hard Drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145215 DVD Drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151171 Unfortunately i have a limited budget and all this comes out to little more than $500. If anyone has any thoughts on this potential build please let me know.
Case: 0/10 - Bin the power supply and I'll give it a 3/10 but that power supply is a deathtrap. You're welcome to use the case if you really want, though it's very poor for cooling, so you may experience overheating issues. Get this Power supply instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139008 I know it seems expensive, but if you don't, the whole PC is likely to go up in smoke, and instead of spending an extra $50, you'll be spending an extra $500 to replace the whole PC. MoBo: 6/10 - I say that because the UD3P is unnecessary. It is the same as the UD3R but with support for dual graphics, which in a $500 system you won't need. On top of that, unless you're going for big overclocks, you won't even need the UD3R. Get this instead to save money: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128372 CPU: 10/10 - excellent CPU, I use one myself. RAM: 10/10 - excellent RAM, very reliable and good value. GPU: 3/10 - Old technology, overpriced. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102824 This is faster, much cheaper, much more efficient, and even more reliable. HDD: 4/10 - Hitachi may be the cheapest, but again, for long term reliability, use a better brand like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073 ODD: 7/10 - Samsung DVD-RWs get mixed reviews among the DVD burning crowd, but since there's almost nothing else available at newegg right now, Samsung it is.
