Still very inexperienced with this new hobby, but had some very good guidance fron brobear and bigorange.

I can now successfully burn DVD using AnyDVD with Nero 6 Recode2. The only thing that is very unappealing to me is when I remove such segments as FBI warnings and any items prior to the movie beginning, I must replace it with either a color, a filmstrip, or some sort of image. I don't like this at all, what's the pupose of cutting it out if it's only being replaced by something else. True it cuts down on the size of the DVD since a color will use less space, but I want to be able to remove those items and go right to the movie, and not have to wait looking at a blue screen (color I chose)

Is there a way around this or must I live with it?

    Sheethead,
Thru my experience with nero recode2,thats the situation with removing titles or whatever. I find that when doing so and not wanting to replace them with anything, I must use DVD Shrink.

    321sucker,
Thanks, I sort of thought that was the answer since I saw there was no alternative when removing a segment. For me, Recode2 does not do what I want for my efforts of going through an editing process only to have a substitute screen appear. If it had true editing abilities then all that was chosen to be left out would be gone. Thought I saw somewhere where it said it needed this to keep continuity of the files.
They lost me on that, I don't want the original with any advertising they have up front, I paid my money for the original DVD and if I don't want to see their sales pitch to buy or rent more of their other products, that should be my choice.
Maybe I'm missing something here with my way of thinking.

    Hi,

DVD Stripper will do what you want. I use it quite a bit and love it. It will allow you to remove whatever you want and still keep functional menus, no colored screens or crap like that. Here're a couple links if you're interested:

    Very general guide:

    Instructions, downloads and FAQ:

Plus it has a very nice "over 18" hack if you're a pervert like me :)

Thanks guys, I'll give them a look.

    Nephilim - you said

Afraid my perversion days are over. Talk about bad luck, tried some Viagra recently, damn pill got stuck in my throat, only thing I got was a stiff neck.

Hey sheethead, You're a hard man to please. lol The reason recode does that is because if you leave a fully funtional menu in then if you click on something in the menu you have to have something to go to. You're still lowering compression greatly and no one makes you click on those extras, you only get the picture if you go there. Think about it this way, you're replacing hours of extras with one little pic that you don't have to go to if you don't want to. In any event, Pinnacle Instantcopy 8 will also leave in fully funtional menu and doesn't insert a picture. It also does an excellent job on quality, easy to use,but alas it isn't free. On a bright note it only costs 25.00 and works with dvd43 like recode. I find myself using it quite a bit due to the quality. TO Nephilim, I have DVD Stripper and I can't get my over 18 hack to work (altho the program works fine),how do you do it? I downloaded the folder for it from their site, but I'm stuck there. She won't do anything for me, story of my life. PS- sheethead, one final note, if you coulda had what you got now 2-3 weeks ago I bet you woulda been ecstatic, am I right? lol

It took me a couple tries because I kept releasing the left mouse button while pressing the other keys. Keep trying, it does work :)

I just get the 2 discs, is that it? I can't believe I'm so hung up on getting this to work with all the nasty sites at my disposal on the web. What's wrong with me?

The two discs should be gone. I've no idea why it's not working.

    Nothing in my book! :)
