I'm trying to convert an AVI file to DVD format. I checked the 700MB AVI file with DivFix and got zero errors. I have the latest FFDshow installed and have installed some sort of divx codec before that. The VSO program starts to work, takes about 3 hours and looks like it is almost done, then it craps out. I forget what the error said. It creates two VOB files. Neither of which play. Also GSPOT says that the audio in the file is MP3. I also tried avi2dvd and it said 'job done' after about 2 seconds. I chose the standard 'free encoder' setting. Can someone please help?
hmm..can you please tell me if you are using the freeware version (recommended) or the shareware version, so i can help you further.
and the error I get is: "Access violation at address 10003ED4 in module 'avcodec.dll'. Write of address 0000000F." Help?
Try use e.g. Power Video Converter or X Video Converter to change the codec of the avi (set video to xvid and audio to mpeg layer 3), then try VSO again. Good luck!
Thanks scf_au. I did what you said and get the same error. I also tried TMPGEnc Plus and get "That file can not open or not supported". Any other ideas?
Did Power Video Converter or X Video Converter refuse to work, or did they just cannot finish the job? If it's the latter, then maybe there's an error in the avi that the programs could not get rid of. In that case, you may check where the program breaks off, and try to cut off the corrupted part by splitting the avi. Good luck!
I am getting the same error, except that it is a READ problem. Could it be that the file is 13GB large. TIA, Rich EDIT:I am using the same version.
