    Hey all,

Is there a way that I can somehow "turn off" the welcome screen so that when I startup my computer, it would go directly to my desktop? I'm the only one who uses this computer and it annoys me that I have to click on my account name whenever I startup my computer and whenever I bring it back from being idle.

is the guest account active or do you have a password?

The guest account was in active and I didn't have a password.

But I did find out that there was another account created by my comp, called the ASP.NET passport account. I deleted that, and I was able to automatically log on.

    Thank You though!!

After installing .Net, you will stop at the login screen. To go directly to your desktop, open the run command from the Start menu.

    type in: control userpasswords2

Then uncheck the box that says "users must enter a username and password to use this computer".

    Thank You!

I'll remember this when I reformat my comp again!
