Hi, I am new to this, i just purchased a Toshiba Satellite with a DVD Multi recorder. I also have a bunch of VOb files ina viedo folder on a dvd, i put the cd in my dvd drive on my lap top and used DVD decrypter to rip a file to my hard drive, I followed the forum directions to a TEE but when it came time to write the file to a dvd it says i should see a file with a .DVD extension or if i see two of them i should select the .dvd one. Well when i go to write file to a dvd i only see two files one is an ISO file the other is .mds. Please help, i need to know if my dvd burner can do this, and if i am doing it right Thank you Jenny _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Help a bitch out[/small]
Hi Jenny, It seems you are using Decrypter in the ISO write mode - not good if your DVD is a DVD-9 (> 4.36GB). Try using DVD Shrink and then use Decrypter to burn it to disc. Both programs being free - it's good deal. Come on into my house and let's watch a little TV and you can learn while we watch, OK ? DVD Shrink and Decrypter - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_decrypter.cfm [bold]DID you know -[/bold] You can, as many of you do already, create a folder for your backup. Try to put it someplace where you won’t forget it - Then go into DVD Shrink, click “Edit”, then click “Preferences” under the “File I/O Tab” un-tick “Enable burning with Nero” then click “OK”. Analyze your next DVD in the usual manner, do your editing (or re-Authoring) and do your compressing [bold]THEN[/bold] when time comes to select “Backup”, take just a second and under “Target Device” go to “Select target device” once there, select “ISO Disc Image”. [bold]NEXT[/bold] tick “Launch DVD Decrypter to burn the output image” box. Finally, where it says “Select target image file”, browse till you find your created folder for your Backup and place it there, That’s it ! Then, select “Destination” as your Burner - holding your DVD media (and after all my efforts it had better be either Ritek G04 or Verbatim. Now is defiantly not the time to put your crappy Cheap stuff in - ) If you don’t know what I’m talking about - you better go back to reading these forum threads and seeing all the crappy media complaints - OK, time to move on (switching to the moving on mode - click, %@# rattle - snap, - #%@-Ouuuch, S@it, that hurt - , OK, I got it -CRUnch&#$ ) - - Moving on - Now click the HD to Disc icon that lets DVD Decrypter burn that ISO Image to your waiting blank media !! And I KNOW you aren’t going anywhere that PC while it’s working cause you don’t want me a-smackin your knuckles wid my Nun’s ruler do ya ? First create a folder for your HD backup. Try to put it someplace where you won’t forget it (i.e. C:/My movie Name). Next download DVD Decrypter and under mode select ISO write. Un-tick the box that says “verify”. Where it says “source”, you’ll put in that folder you created on your HD. Lastly where it says Destination, out in the drive where your burned resides. Decrypter - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_decrypter.cfm Download DVD Shrink. Open it and click “Edit”, and then click “Preferences” under the “File I/O Tab” un-tick “Enable burning with Nero” then click “OK”. DVD Shrink - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm - Put your original DVD in your drive. Click "Open Disc". Wait until Shrink’s analyzing is finished then “click” Backup. Now, take just a second and under “Target Device” go to “Select target device” once there, select “ISO Disc Image”. [bold]NEXT[/bold] tick “Launch DVD Decrypter to burn the output image” box. Finally, where it says “Select target image file”, browse till you find your created folder for your Backup and place it there, That’s it ! Click “OK” and DVD Shrink burns that ISO image there on your HD. Decrypter will then burn your blank disc - that’s it ! Don’t use your PC for anything at all while it’s working and DO USE Ritek G04 discs or Verbatim discs. Cheap disc might not work.
