Firstly, I apologize if this is not the right place to post this query.
What would you guys recommend for a high-quality portable CD player? There are just SO many out there! My main interest is durability and sound quality rather than fancy features. One general concern I have is the ease of the pause/play function. I am currently logging the contents of some audio CDs (spoken word) which requires me to pause and then play a lot. Originally I was looking for a player with a foot pedal control but that seems not to exist. (There are gads for cassette tapes!)
Also, if you guys could recommend a good headset to use with it.
Thanks very much... I'd really appreciate your help.

Something you can look for in a portable cd player is once that come with a remote. Most of them are attached to the headset that comes with the cd player. They are nice to have. They allow you to play/pause and scroll through the songs.

For sound quality I'd recommend shoping at a store with some on display that you can listen to.

If you want durability anything in the mid range for price and up will last.
