I currently have a 200 dollar gift certificate I am putting toward a digital camera. Thing is, the gift certificate is to Best Buy so that is where I will make my purchase. I would rather not spend anymore then $500. Here is a list of some of the camcorders I saw on their website, but I would like some professional opinions on which ones to go with. This isn't for anything like professional movie editing as you can imagine:) I just want a nice camera that I WILL be making dvds on my cpu with. Much better then the Sony Hi-8 that has to be taken through a Canopus 100 convertor right now. argh...

Anyway, here is the list. Let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks
    Bryan

These should give you an idea of some of the options at BestBuy.

    Also, are JVC good brands?

Canon make excellent DV Camcorders, I have a 630i (might be only avaiable in the UK) and it is a brilliant camcorder. I don't know much about JVC but there camcorders are packed with the extra's you would normally have to pay a lot more which can't be bad.

Well, I ended up getting the ZR-80 I believe. It was about 399, but so far its been a good camera.

No Night Shot though :(, where all the lights can be off, but is got a night mode.
