Hello all, and thanks for taking the time to view this. I am looking for recommendations on purchasing a LCD HDTV. 1080p is a must, and it needs to be 46 inches or bigger. I have read things regarding HDTV Lag which is important to me because this TV will be used for two things, playing Video games and watching Blu-Ray Movies. Quality is very important in the choosing factor. Is 4ms response time sufficient for what I am looking for? I ask anyone who can recommend good quality TV models, please post it in this thread. Thank you very much for any info you could provide.
I have a Sony KDL-55XBR8 and also a Sharp AQUOS LC-65SE94U and both televisions are SPECTACULAR. I got the video game systems too... rocking mainly the PS3 and Resident Evil 5 right now and it really is something. My wife and I watch TONS of Blu-Rays as well and neither TV gives us any problems whatsoever. I can say with great confidence that I would highly recommend either television for what you are looking for. Cheers!!
I recently purchased the latest Philips 52" LCD and was sceptical about the quality. The salesman had given me all the patter in the shop and I bought it. I need not have worried. The quality is exceptional and both blu-rays and more importantly for me, PS3 games. These is a sports option on the tv which helps to reduce any notions of lag and I watch a lot of golf and don't notice any loss in motion. HARD, I think that technology has moved on so much in the last few years that each manufacturer's models are equally impressive. We went with Philips as we've only ever had Philips and never had problems. Prices are falling so now is definitely a great time to make that purchase, whichever brand you choose.
Thank you both for your recommendations. 311814175, I have no doubt those two TVs are extremely nice, but I am looking for something well lower than the 4k-5k range. I am looking at the 1k-2k range myself. Anyone have any models in this range that would be sufficient for what I am looking for?
I will do some research and either PM you or post here when I find some things in that price range for ya! Cheers!
Thanks alot, look forward to hearing from you. Might want to post it in here so in the future someone looking for a similar recommendation can see it as well =)
Although Plasma television technology eliminate the need for the bulky picture ... What is an LCD? Watch tv on lcd? What is a LCD tv? Choosing a lcd tv? ...
I appreciate the concern which is been rose. The things need to be sorted out because it’s not about the individual but it can be with everyone. vichi....... SPAM REMOVED
I have a Sony KDL-52V4100 52" BRAVIA Series LCD HDTV and it is awesome. I'm not a gamer so I can't comment on how this would work for games but the quality for movies is the best I have seen. I paid less than 2K - far less.
@ Hard...Are you set on an LCD?? I have A Sony bravia 46inch LCD and a Panasonic Viera 42inch plasma. Personally, the plasma is better picture quality. the response time on a plasma is virtually 0ms. I havent tried Blu ray on either of them but I have HD S*y and I have tried gaming. A Plasma is better for sport, action movies and gaming. With Plasma, it doesnt matter how close you are to the TV, picture quality doesnt deterioriate, with LCD picture gets grainy. Plasma has a greater viewing angle than LCD. Ive done a lot of research on this over the last few months. I think Panasonic do a 50inch plasma within your budget. if you want the ultimate...go for a Pioneer 50inch Plasma. Not too sure on the price though.
Thank you for the recommendation. It was so long between posts to this thread that I stopped checking it. I recently got a 46 inch LCD Sharp AQUOS that I am quite happy with. It was a great price and it's pretty good, at least to me. I must say I am not completely up on all the Plasma info, but I am sure the Plasmas are great. I may have to get one for a theater tv later down the line. Thanks for the input however.
