Hi There, I read this forum and what great topics. Unfortunately I'm scratching my head about the terminology etc. Let me explain. My son was given an Xbox from an older cousin and we have played some games on it successfully and even found the Nintendo stuff-excellent. I am well versed in XP and Mac OSX but I haven't a clue about Xbox. It is modded (Genx) and it has heaps of games on it's 8 GB harddrive. I've searched around and the terminology has me beat. An example... We backed up to the Xbox hard drive a Sonic hedgehog disc and we can't access it. The launch menu-Games-does not show the game.It shows games that arn't on the box. I also read about ftp and backing up games-can I just connect my Ethernet cable from my xbox to my computer and access it from there? (I have read the recent post using flashfxfp). Would anyone have a link that can explain the basics of Xbox etc? cheers
You could read some of the xbox 'stickies' by chunkhead, ie threads in bold, at the top of the various xbox forums. That's all i did, i'd never even used an xbox before and now have softmodded various xboxes, put larger hard drives in, installed XBMC and networked them for watching movies anywhere in the house.
