Depends what you want to use to play the video on the G6. If you want to use the the G6's own video functions you need to install the codecs to allow the PC software to read Real players formats, i use the K-Lite codec pack as it has almost every codec i need. After installing the codecs, using the normal converer softwrae as you would normally. The other way is to use Moonshell: To convert videos for moonshell you need a program called BatchDPG, I do not know is this supports Real player formats though. use Batch DPG to convert you videos, and download the G6 version of moonshell from here to play it.
i downloaded batch dpg and the 2 other files i needed. It keeps saying avisynth not detected even though it is installed. The program is not working either it says open the file in something like windows media player -_-
I don't know then, I tend to avoid real player files due to it being incompatible with so many things. You best option is to find a program that will convert real format into .AVI or .MPG and then use BatchDPG on it.
i found out my avi synth was not up to date. I can convert but it keeps freezing so i cant see the progress. Any howwwwww, after i convert a movie, where do i put it. That is my biggest question converting it is to make it smaller right?
Converting it is to change the compression technique used to one hat the DS can decompress when playing, things like Real media, and DivX would be impossible to play on the DS due to lack of resources. It does also make the actual resoloution smaller to help with filesizes. Just put the video file anywhere on the G6, i personally porefer everything organised (unlike my bedroom) so would have a Video folder. Put the moonshell folder and nds file in the root of the G6.
