I looked around the fourm but did not see this exact question, I have a NDSl and was thinking of buying these two items: 1) G6Flash 3rd 2G NDS with UDisk Burner - 2) M3 NDS PassCard 3 - Are these the only things I need to play NDS games? I have nearly 200 of them currently and want a way to play them. Do any of them need patching? Can I just transfer the rom files over and begin playing or will that not be possible? I just want the easiest way to play. Can someone help with these two options? Thanks in advance
Yes, they are all you need, however if you have a DS Lite, you might want to look into getting a G6 Lite as it will fit perfectly in the DS Lite.
g6 lite is a good choice if space is not an issue for you, it comes with 512mb of built in non upgradeable memory, and there is already a couple of games over 100 to 134 mb.s, resident evil, and the rub rabbits come to mind. otherwise get a m3 mini sd and a passcard 3 that you will need with either anyway, and choose your own storage capacity. both units are made by the same team anyway.
Sweet, thanks. What about game saves? what happens when I try to save a game file with a DS game from the cart in the GBA slot?
when you play a game on the m3 and quit, when it is rebooted it backs up the save file to the sd card, so in essence it is just like the real game! and as far as me pushing the m3/passcard 3 on people, it is because it really is the best I've seen out there, It just works like you want it to.no problems at all it does what you want it to, and what you expect.Actually I think I'm in love with it lol.
You know, the ones I listed dont have an SD card involved.... am I missing something with the M3? Does it take an SD card or trans flash? Not sure what to think... here is what I am looking at: http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/customer/product.php?productid=2437&cat=191&page=1 http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/customer/product.php?productid=2440&cat=191&page=1 Thanks again for the advise!
That first link is the G6, it does not use removable media, and as such, the memory is fixed at 2Gb (=256MB). The second link is just the Passcard3, this is what lets use the G6 or M3 in NDS mode. Niether of those links are of the actual M3.
IM confused, doesnt 2Gb mean 2000MB? how is that a 256MB.....??? Also, the last link to product is all I need to play NDS roms? None of the sites say you can play NDS roms exactly... only GBA and others... Just want to make sure before I blow the money.
No, 2Gb is 2 gigabits, which is 256 megabytes. Also, the M3 plays pretty much all DS games flawlessly.
Also, the last link to product is all I need to play NDS roms? yes except for a flash memory card, I got a ridata 150x 1 gigabyte from newegg for 23 bucks and a card reader for 5.99, also if your interested in the m3 get the mini sd version bundle if you can, it's smaller, and if you order from realhotstuff he's in new jersey and sends you a custom cd and instructions for everything you will ask. fast shipping also 2 days for me for 8 bucks. also that bundle is literlly just plug and play.
http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/customer/product.php?productid=2439&cat=191&page=1 Well, I ordered this one! I hope it is the right one I already have a Gig SD card so I hope that will be okay. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions, and I will post the results of it all soon.
Okay, I bought that combination from consolesource and got it in about 5 days, and they both work great. I have only had problems playing ultimate spiderman for the DS but nothing else. Well, metroid pinball has a bit of a lag but not much, actually it helps me play it I have a 1Gig SD card Im using and have 9 DS games and 14 GBA games right now. The movie aspect of this thing is not all that good, but then again I got this to play games and not movies. All in all it was a breeze to get going, no patching and the software it comes with are great. I also have no trouble with saved games since it backs them up to your HD when you usb it to your computer. This is a great little package for anyone who wants to play .NDS and .GBA with as little hassle as possible, it was very nearly plug and play. Thanks for all the previous comments, they helped
Ultimate spiderman is one of the 1% of games that have problems working on well, anything (including the M3) tough really :-( The Metroid Pinball lag might be due to the speed of your SD card if your using fast boot, try using normal load and it will work at full speed (that is if you want to make it harder ) The movie player that the M3 originally utilised is crap, but with moonshell being available (both as inbuilt firmware and standalone) you can get much better video quality, though it still dosn't surpass the PSP, or my PDAs quality. And technically, the games are patched, when you use the gamemanager to copy the games over, but as this is done behind the scenes, it of no effort to the end user, which is good. Hope you enjoy using your new M3
Hi, can anyone answer: Are there any complications with playing online games over WiFi, such as Mario Kart, if you use one of these methods to play the games? Can you still get a unique friend code without a regular game cartridge?
