i used vso convertxtodvd to convert an avi file to dvd, when i burned it and played it on my 42" hdtv, it was kinda blurry, pixelated. is it the aspect ratio problem? at the settings it allows u to choose 16:9 widescreen or automatic which is determined based on the Aspect Ratio of the source files

Look at the dimensions of your avi source file:
    588 x 244 pixels
If this is a DVD rip then the video has been compressed to a large degree. If you use this as your source to make another DVD then your result will be a blurry pixellated video especially on a 42 inch display. Try to get a better source file with less compression.
