Need suggestions on good/free wav or mp3 editor

    hey started to make own ringtones and need a program to edit the ringtone with effects, like with fading and so on. Have program to convert to wav and then to mp3lame to transfer to phone. Want to try and fade song in and out and dont have program for it, so would love suggestions on good free program from anyone whom has experience in this !!! thanks to all whom can help.

    agreed. I use audacity for fading tracks. Excellent prog.

    I've honestly never used the programs, I use Pro Tools. But for being free I hear they're good.
