Hi, I need to build a computer tower for 1.5K (a lil more is ok), i have no clue how to start it. Can someone give me some links to newegg on what i should use? Or if you have time, could u please just give links to everything i need to build the tower? I'm tring to build this for gaming, and i have no clue about graphic cards and i dont know what is a good processor, n stuff right now. I don't play PC games, but my bro does, and he mostly play World of Warcraft and some other random things. He think he need a small 10,000rpm hdd and second for storage, cause ssd are expensive, and he need a fast hdd. Is it a good time to build a computer or should i wait for something that is worth waiting for? Thanks in advance.
SSDs aren't that expensive. Ideally, you don't want to store anything other than an OS on your first hard drive. Get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227372 and this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284 Both bases covered for under $200. As for a gaming PC build, is he using a large widescreen monitor? This decides what sort of graphics card he will need.
I have a question, this seems really common and popular but I haven't really looked into it. Do people commonly use a faster smaller hard drive or ssd for the operating system and other important apps and a huge HDD for storage...?
eddie: It's rude to highjack other people's threads, please post your own in future. Up until recently, small HDDs for storage and big drives for data were common with enthusiasts/gamers, as an OS drive not clogged up with games is quicker to boot up. SSDs are finally starting to take over from HDDs now they are cheap. vxwq: A 22" monitor for World of Warcraft isn't too bad, are there any other games you can think of that he plays that might be more demanding? If not I will post you a component list
Not really, he wanted to play GTA IV, but we have both ps3 and 360 and he plays on that. so idk. He mainly plays wow, but theres some random games that his friends play on it. All he told me was he wanted to spend around 1.5K on a tower. Thanks!
I'd recommend you play GTA4 on a console. The PC version runs very badly, has lots of bugs, and doesn't even look that much better.
