    Hi,

As the title states, I need to convert .ts files and ,mkv files to .avi files.

I already have the following software and am pretty familiar with it:

    1. CCE Sp
    2. DVDrebuilder
    3. IMGburn
    4. DVDdecrypter
    5. AutoGK

Now I know I can convert the .ts files to .avi using AutoGK, but I cannot seem to use CCE with that.

I would also like an all in one program if possible that will do both .ts and .mkv to .avi conversions, that takes advantage of my investment in CCE.

My main priority is the conversion of 720 .mkv files to 720 .avi files. I only have one or two .ts files currently to convert, so am happy to just use AutoGK for those if an ideal solution for the .mkv conversion exists.

    Thanks!

    Mark

You can try Alltoavi (free) and I used it for a couple of mkv that had sync issues in DVD Flick but not ConvertXtoDVD (avi quality seemed as good), think it does ts too but not sure: http://alltoavi.sourceforge.net/

    Hi,

Ok, I tried alltoavi for mkv to avi and I have to say it is nothing but a disappointment, hours spent doing the conversion and nothing in the end, not even an error, or a log. Waste of time.

So what else can people recommend for mkv to avi conversion?

    tks

Funny that I came across this thread- I was just trying to convert a 720p mkv file to a 720p XviD file to test on a DVD player being discussed in a different thread. I'm trying to use SUPER to convert between the formats. It's free, download here: http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html.
I'll post when I finish the conversion.

What do you mean by that, did the program just shut down or what? maybe you cannot find the folder where AlltoAvi saved your output?
    here's a guide:

You can also try Avidemux or AutoMKV to convert from MKV to AVI:

I found one that is doing the job nicely, it is called MediaCoder. Thanks for everyone's help.

Oh, the alltoavi issue was no output file at the end, and I had told it where to put it and what to call it.

    :D
