I recently brought a starview for £150 but it isnt the new Stariew 2 "The Box" and the one i got is probably the orginal starview. Heres the pic of the starview i have:

Now i hear the starview 2 "The Box" can be brought for £95 but what extra features does it have over the starview that I have? And also can someone give me a link to where i can buy a real starview 2 "The Box" as i hear many are fakes.

I also have a few questions:
What is flashing and reflashing as i dont want to have to go through a lot of hassle every now and then to get all the channels for free.

Do i have to enter new "codes" every now and then to keep receiving the free chaneels or will the Starview 2 "The Box" or the starview box that i currently have update itself to have the new codes?

I seem to be missing a few channels from the starview box that i currently have e.g. E4, BBC 3 and 4 etc, why is this. By the way i live in South London and i am with Telewest (now Virgin Media) and i have used the wire Telewest gave me for my TV to use for my Starview.

Any help wil be really helpful :)

It looks like you have the Starv**w , there are 2 types of these , clones and genuine , Count the vents on top , clone has 18x7 and genuine has 25x7. Flashing is another name for updating the firmware . The latest firmware out for clones nad genuines , you do not need to input codes , it does it automatically for you . "The B0x" has NO clones as yet , but they basically do the same thing . You will need to know what version you have and then take it from there and update it . Hope this helps you a bit ... £150 was very dear for a Starv**w and yes "The B0x" is cheaper .

I counted the vents at the top and it has 25 slots x 7. I checked on the menu and it says i have:

    API Ver : 4.00e_E
    Boot Ver :7.0
And underneath this it says "7. Jun. 2007"

It syas all this under system Information. As of now i have not piad for the box yet which is why i was wondering if i should get Starview 2 "The Box".

I guess Starview 2 "The Box" is probably best to get, as also my Starview is £150 yet the newer box costs around £100 from ebay.

Another thing is that my Starview's EPG never seems to load and somehow got to Jan 3rd. How can i fix this?
