I'm running Windows 98 SE on a Pentium III and using Nero. It's been working fine forever. However, recently, the registry messed up and Windows restored a previous one. Since then, I can't burn cdr disks. I've uninstalled and re-installed half a dozen times. I've done a complete cleanup as suggested by Nero support. Same result.

What's strange is that if I burn the compilation to a cr-rw, it works fine but if I try to burn to a cdr, I get an error.

Below is a copy of the error I get after the burn attempt stops:

What I also can't understand is why it won't keep the settings I enter when the tabbed screen comes up. If anyone can help me I would apreciate it immensley.

Yes, I've tried with 3 different cdr disks. Same result.

@mtech1 - i won't comment/get into the registry question, but have had a go at decoding your logfile -

    - download latest version of ASPI layer here - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm

    - firmware is up to date, but it's dated 2002. Just keep in mind that this drive won't recognise newer media too well

    - 128MB is barely enough for Windows 98 itself, never mind CD Burning. Either way something's used up what little you have, so your PC will be using virtual memory, a portion of hard disc, so your hard disc will be 'swapping' thus interfering with the burn

    - you're not Finalising the disc. I don't know an awful lot about multisession as did all of one multisession disc about 5yrs ago and didn't see a need for it back then.

    - utter rubbish media i'm afraid. Use better quality CD media

    - blatantly pinched this from a reply from 'binkie7' in another post - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/195031 "too much memory is already in use"
