i encoded all the files correctly using TmpGEnc. I have no problem burning but after that, a VCD that should be 599MB is reported by Explorer at only 600kb, but in the MPEGAV folder, the file size is reported correctly as 599MB. I can play the VCD using a VCD player connected to my TV but not using my CD-ROM. Strangly, Active Movie, the old media player can play the file but no other player can play it. What could be the problem? Nero? Drivers? CD? PC? im mad? (i hope not)
Try putting an audio cd into your drive and checking the sizes of each track. They will be very small because, a cd-rom drive is made mostly to read data wheras an audio cd is burned by the minute not the megabit. This is the same with vcd. Ever wonder why you can fit an 800mb file vcd encoded onto a 700mb/80min disk. To play the vcd, try using any dvd software. Because you have a cd-rom drive, it might not read the cd as vcd but if you try to use an open function to open the file(s) inside MPEGAV then there is a chance it might play. Hope I've been of some help!
