I dont know if it is a problem with Nero or with my burner. I have updated everything (firmware, updates) and the burner will not finish the 2nd layer. I've tried using Shrink, DVD HD Fab, and just with Nero. NO GO. Was working fine until about 2 months ago, dont think I did anything to screw it up. This is the error log I get. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. i k 1A20-*serial number removed by creaky* Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 11/2/2004 12:54:32 PM NT-SPTI used Nero Version: 6.6.1.15 Internal Version: 6, 6, 1, 15 (Nero Express) Recorder: <HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55L>Version: 1.05 - HA 1 TA 3 - 6.6.1.15 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? Nero isn't the best for writing to DL disks and your version of Nero isn't the best of Nero 6! Update your Nero to version 6.6.1.15a Here's how: Before udating to 6.6.1.15a save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://www.nero.com/eng/support-nero6-tools-utilities.html then do a registry clean up(free registry cleaner, CClean: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloadpage.aspx?1) and defrag...... then reboot! update to Nero 6.6.1.15a, install Package 1 and Package 2 only: http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-nero6-update.php reboot and you're good to go! the file is from Roxio, or also can come in through WinAmp. If FuriousD has Roxio or a Sonic program installed then you will need Roxio Zapper to uninstall the program(s). As both Roxio/Sonic program do not play well with Nero when having problems! http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml try these suggestions and see if this solves your problem. Otherwise try ImgBurn to write to DL disks. It's a free program and it works great with DL disks! Imgburn
Ihoe gave good advice I second (his advice) IMHO Imgburn is the best burning proggie out there and the best dl burning proggie available
Nope, tried it both ways and it still failed. imgburn didnt give me a log file to post. Could someone read my previous log and tell me what is wrong with my burner?

Your burner doesn't like the media being used. Try using Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) made in Singapore. Burn at 2.4x, not max.
