I'm new to this forum - and thanks for having me!
My Nero 6.6 software works well with my Gigabyte Dual drive, but refuses to "see" a DVD-RW or +RW CD. When I insert a DVD+RW or-RW CD, it prompts that the DVD is "not loaded - please insert a CD into drive E:"
I've tried re-installing the software, but that does not seem to solve the problem. I then also ventured into the ASPI layers and installed the latest drivers - that did not work either, so I re-installed the previous drivers. Could someone please help me with this?

hi and welcome. please post LAST section of your Nero log, which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar

    Hi Creaky,
Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately I don't have the log-file - perhaps because its now a complete new install?? The file does not appear in the nero directory. Do you perhaps have other suggestions?
    Thank you! Ewald

oh ok, i half suspected that's what you'd say. try Nero's info-tool, it produces a huge logfile, paste that here instead...

    Creaky,
I had good reason to believe that the Gigabyte Drive was at fault (not even a year old and still under guarantee - we'll see how that one goes with the dealer!) Replaced the Gigabyte now with a LiteOn (never heard of it!), but it seems to work fine. I can safely say that it was a hardware problem and not with Nero.
    Thank for your interest.

nice one. lite-on's are nice. (my Sony in my sig is a rebadged Lite-on).

it would still be nice to see a logfile whenever your do a burn so we can tweak your settings.. up to you... happy burnibg either way and you can always reply to this thread some other time and i'll get instant notification anyway as i'm subscribed to it..
