    Hi buck,
I've got Nero 6 but have never seen the classic mode. I assume you mean Nero Burning Rom.
I need to know what you actually see when you start Nero and then I should be able help.
When you go into start> all programs> Nero, you should see a list. Nero Burning Rom is on my list, What do you have?

what im looking for, is in the directions to transfering the files after i have used dvd shrink it says to run nero from the classic mode. i can not find any classic mode. i am using nero 6 demo right now. when i go to nero 6 demo menu, 7 programs come up, back it up,burning rom, cover designer, express, image drive, sound trax, and wave editor. what i am trying to do is transfer a movie from my hard drive that i have shrunk (using dvd shrink) to a dvd-rw using nero. when i actually go into burning rom, it comes to a new compilation screen where you choose what format to burn to. dont know if this has helped or not. thanks

    Hi Buck,
Im assuming you are using Shrink version 3.0b5 and that all your DVD video files are in a folder on your hard drive.
Open Burning ROM and on the upper left side select DVD from the dropdown menu. Below that, Select the DVD-Video icon. On the ISO tab, select ISO level 1 and below that select ISO 9660. Don't check any of the boxes. Now select "new" on the right side of the window. A new window opens. This new window allows you to find your files.
On the left side you will see a VIDEO_TS folder under a "new" disc icon. Click that folder to open it. Now use the browser to find your folder, once you see your folder click on it and the video files will appear in the box on the right. Move your cursor over the files and right click. Select "Select All" from menu. Right click again and select "Copy to Compilation". The files will now appear in the second box from the left. each file will have a small musical note to it's left, indicating DVD compliance. Now click the burn icon at the top of the window, it's the disc with the match burning. Burn window opens, Select "burn".
    Find the guide here: http://www.dvdshrink.info
In the guide the files are selected and put in a bit differently than I do but either way works.

    Good luck,
    Frank

Hello Buck and Frank, I am using Sony dru510a with Shrink 3.0, and/or DVD Decrypter 3.1.9 and Nero 6 Ultra. I went through about 50 TDK 4x DVD-r and wasted about half of them because when I play them back they skip and or freeze about 75% of the way through the movie, the other half burned perfect. I tried Meritline dvd-rw (about 1.50 ea.) they burned a little more error free...but still had to rewrite or give up on a few movies until i discover a more perfect system.
I just ordered ritek DVD +RW from meritline.com after reading somewhere that NERO has trouble with -R media...
has anyone else heard about this?

I also read that Roxio can conflict with your Nero burn, so, goodbye Roxio.
PS, I had trouble with X-copy platnum as well, i'm convinced... do not waste your time on -R or +R, buy RW and if they don't work at least you can reuse the DVD, RW DVD is becoming more and more affordable.

I've been spending good money on Memorex 4x +Rs. I just bought 50 today for $99.00. They had Imation media at 1.00 ea. The Memorex have worked perfectly for me and 50 discs will last a long time as I don't really burn that much.
I hope you guys try Shrink 3.1.1. If you have Nero 6 installed, Shrink will start it and burn your movie. Its pretty cool to do because if you are a regular Shrink user you get used to closing Shrink and then opening up Nero.
The audio preview is great too. Sometimes I look at all those audio tracks listed and am never 100% sure which one to use. This feature takes the guesswork out of it. The last coaster I made was the director talking through "Spiderman".

FYI Nero has a tool that checks for conflicts and checks drivers. I'll attempt to put the link in:

Sort of unrelated, but fasfrank, they have 50-pack Memorex DVD+Rs for $49.99 at BestBuy this week. Not posting this to evoke a Homer Simpson 'Doh!' reaction from you, but maybe you can buy this 50-pack at BestBuy and return the new pack to the original place you bought it. Doubt they would do a price match.

I think i fixed my problems, I went to Nero.com and downloaded the Powerpack upgrade (if you bought nero 6 ultra it is free)I also got rid of Roxio and reburned Bourne Identity using Shrink and Nero... and no skips during play back. I am burning enemy of the state as i type,(i don't recommend multi- tasking during burns as it may cause buffer underrun) if you don't hear back from me then you can assume it worked fine. My biggest problem burn was Braveheart... I'll try to burn it again at a later time.

These threads are a great resource, thanks for your response's folks. If you go the the nero.com site you can download updates and they have a pretty cool 3D screensaver...
I think i'll stick with RW media from now on.

Heres another plug for RW media, I made a copy of Patch Adams with DVD Shrink on a meritline -RW disk...
(SonyDRU-510A) It skipped unbearablly about 75% of the way through the movie, I took the (shrink) movie and put it through DVD decrypter (DVD Decrypter copied the files to HD, erased my RW and Re-burned to the same disk, now thats technology folks) I still got a few minor skips, but it was bearable to endure. I may run it throught decrypter again t osee if it cleans it up a little more... I have taken the advice of another member and rid my computer of Roxio, but am still having skipping problems with certain movies... Anybody have any suggestions?, i would appreciate it.
    could it be the media?
    Does NERO have problems with-R?
I have downloaded the latest version 6.0.0.3 ultra, including the Power-Pac.
