I downloaded the latest version of Nero 6 and am using the demo version. I have dragged the files than I want to burn to DVD and everything looks okay, but the burn button is grayed out. I have a DVD+RW in the drive and the drive is properly selected. The files that I am trying to burn are BUP, IFO and VOB files. Am I doing something wrong here?
This is a long shot....but maybe it was a demo version that expired...or simply its because its a demo version, so they just want you to be able to navigate around the program to see if you like the interface or not...hence the actual burn button isnt activated?
The button is not available unless media is in the recordable drive. If your drive does not recognise the media you will get the same result. Have you used this type of media before?
I have a Memorex DVD+RW in the drive. I have recorded to DVD+RW in the past using DVD X Copy and Roxio EZ CD Creator and it has worked well, so I don't know why Nero should not recognize it. My setup is as follows: Dell Inspiron 8600 Laptop 512 MB RAM Philips SDVD6004 2x DVD+RW Drive Windows XP Thank you
Up at the top of the Nero screen, (not the little dvd wizard screen) make sure you have the DVD burner drive selected. Unless it is selected, the copy/burn button won't be highlighted.
Once again, I have the drive properly selected. The dropdown menu at the top of the Nero Burning ROM program shows my DVD burner. I have also gone through the Choose Recorder options to select it again just to make sure and the burn button is still grayed out. Today, I uninstalled the program, redownloaded the 21MB setup file from Nero, and installed it, but it is doing the exact same thing.
Damned odd indeed. Try going into Nero via the Start Smart screen. Choose the DVD tab at the top, then DVD Video. Then drag your files etc. There must be some detail you are missing, else it would work. I use the 21mb version of Nero 6.0.0.15. When I first got Nero, I tried burning a DVD by going directly to Nero Burning Rom, but couldn't get it to do what I wanted. Once I used the Start Smart thang... yo tengo no mas problemas.
You're right. I missed something. I was not putting the files in the VIDEO_TS file and just putting them outside of the folders. I guess I earned my Newbie title, huh? Thanks for your help.
I see you already figured out your problem. I was doing the same thing, not puting the files inside the folder. Does anyone know if there is a way to make the menues work using dvd shrink and Nero or other burn software. I own DVD x copy express but like the edit features of shrink.
