I am using shrink 3.1 and Nero 6 Ultra Edition. I have made a copy of Saving Private Ryan with no problem, but when I tried making a copy of 50 First Dates I get an error. I have tired 3 times. Any suggestions?
Try different software. There are alot of programs that you can use on a trial basis. Check the guides area for ideas on different combinations of software to use if you are new to this. Also, you may want to post a log of the burn process so that everyone can get a better idea of where the process is going wrong.
It would help quite a bit to know what the exact error is and at what stage in the process it occurs.
I sometimes get an error from running dvd shrink in the burning process. If I get an error I will go straight to nero and copy the files in the video_ts folder if shrink has already compressed the file.I hope this helps you out.I have some burn errors myself.
On the fourth try I got it too work. Instead of going through all the steps of adding files, I just had it burn to the DVD right after the compression of the movie. Not really sure why it did not work the other way, but I did take note of the recommended ideas if I have problems again. Thanks for all of your responces Chris
In my experience the media and the speed that you burn at affect the outcome. I made lots of maxell coasters starting out. TDK however are running 100%. With shrink re authoring to remove extras and dropping unneeded audio gives more room to lessen compression. If you have the time let the program do the deep analysis as well
I am using AnyDVD+UltraISO pair, AnyDVD can bypass copy-protected information, and UltraISO can backup DVD to many formats including ISO, BIN/CUE, and Nero(NRG).
I'm assuming that you have one DVD-ROM and a DVD+/-RW drive separately so that you can copy one to one without waiting to click anything after dvdshrink finish encoding. First possible problem is your DVD-ROM drive that cause the reading error. There're a few DVD-ROM drives out there that couldn't read DVD disc. I have one right now that does that, 90% of the time it would read fine. So what I have to do is to start encode the movies in the DVD+/-RW drive to hard- drive. After that, you can load the nero 6 and burn DVD video files.
