I use dvdfab decrypter to decrypt a moving and then make a copy with Nero 6 recoder. Even when I use the setting for the most accurate copying, i find multiple areas in the copy where the dvd either freezes, or its as if you seeing multiple pixels, like when the satellite signal is interrupted by bad weather on DirectTv. Any ideas on what is causing this and any ideas how to prevent it?
most common causes are too high a burn speed/crap media/burning too close to edge of discs. let's have LAST section of Nero log which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar
here is the last section from the history log.Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.71 (0001), size=45056 bytes, created 8/14/2002 3:03:36 PM ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 10/26/2004 6:35:34 PM Nero Version: 6.6.0.16 Internal Version: 6, 6, 0, 16b (Nero Express) Recorder: <SONY DVD RW DRU-540A> Version: 1.0b - HA 1 TA 1 - 6.6.0.16 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI CD-ROM: <SONY DVD RW DRU-540A >Version: 1.0b - HA 1 TA 1 - 6.6.0.16 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : Maxtor 6Y120L0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : ST380011A atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : IC35L060AVER07-0 atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : SONY DVD RW DRU-540A atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === SONY DVD RW DRU-540A F: CDRom0 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 767MB (785904kB) Free physical memory: 342MB (350612kB) Memory in use : 55 Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 22.9.2005 Audio CD 7:48:17 PM #1 CDADOC -1 File Cdadoc.cpp, Line 1465 Audio item log info: Audio document burn settings: ============================= Burn mode: DAO, CD Text: On, Cache disk or network files: No, Cache small files: No, Cache files smaller than 65536 bytes. @ribsprder - this log is from a CD burn, however there's enough clues for now to comment on, see if you can dig out a section of log that pertains to a movie burn.. - hmmm, no new firmware out for this burner since Aug 2004 (had a look in a couple places) - http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/firmware.htm#540 and http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1872 - if you follow ALL the other suggestions and still have problems, the next logical step is to try other media - for audio cd's i only do 16x max, for data i do 24x. try a lower speed along with the other suggestions - 2 problems there, you have Roxio, which does not play well with Nero at all. Uninstall Roxio, you may have to google search for 'Roxio Zapper' to fully eradicate Roxio from your system. Also you have Nero's InCD software installed (packet writing software) - this is horrid. uninstall Nero, uninstall completely using Nero's Clean Tools, then reinstall Nero WITHOUT installing InCD. If you follow ALL the suggestions then the next logical step is to try different media. As i say, let's have a logfile section for the pixellated movie you burned or any movie logfile section.
