Hi. Could someone be kind enough to help me with my problem. I have a new Dell Precision M6300 laptop and I have installed Nero 7. I also have DVD shrink but from what I have found is that after shrinking (ripping) a DVD, burning doesnt start automatically and a backup is stored on a hard disc. I tried running Nero Recode to burn the backed up DVD files but the recording keeps failing. for dma i think there is a guide here, but basically go to device manager and uninstall the IDE/ATAPI controller link and reboot pc. roxiozap tool can be found on a google search yes imgburn will burn those folders useing BUILD mode.

Hi thanks for your help....sorry but I did turn the DMA on and managed to get rid of the CDRALW2K.SYS driver using roxiozap....but it still fails....here is the log. I also tried using imgburn in the build mode but it doesnt burn. I mean does it have to first convert the Video_TS files to iso files? Looking at your recent log I would say it's a problem with your TDK discs, have you tried another brand.
The discs are definitely crappy. I would try and update the firmware to D400, see if that makes a difference. Get better media anyway. http://support.dell.com/support/dow...1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=32&fileid=246327 Also, I would not use Nero Recode once you have transcoded the movie with DVD Shrink. Is like using DVD Shrink twice. Use Nero Burning Rom instead(or better, ImgBurn).If you want to use Nero Recode, skip the DVD Shrink phase.

Thanks for your help! I have used imgburn this time and it worked. I found a guide which helped it even further. I think I will ditch Nero 7 and use imgburn instead from now on. I have also updated the firmware to D400. Thanks once again. Your help was very much appreciated.
You're welcome! Although the discs you have now might work with the updated firmware, I would still recommend getting better discs.
