Nero 7 anything I should know before I install it just got a new burner which came with Nero 7 using Nero 6.18 think its 6.18 which is working ok well I say ok doesn’t do a very good job with audio cds sound jumps never use to gave up trying to fix the problem DVD’s are ok I’ve got roxio 10 installed which works with no problem I installed it after the problems with Nero started so I know that wasn’t the reason Nero lost the plot so what do you think should I uninstall Nero 6 and give Nero 7 a try all is it not worth the headache cheers for any advice.

Yep Essentials is the dodgy OEM version.
Try downloading the Nero 7 trial from Nero's website.

I'd say Nero is pretty much a must have app. for general Data/Music burning. It's simple and gets the job done everytime. For specific things like Converting AVI to DVD, making Mp3 Discs, etc... it lacks a little bit as it's codecs and compression ratios are not the best quality, other freeware apps like DVD Flick and Super are 10 times better and offer way more features.

On the other hand, for recoding (copying) DVD movies, it's brilliant, Nero Recode gives you excellent results. I've made over 200 backups with it, no problem with any one of them.

Btw, word of warning: DO NOT install InCD, a Nero Utility that comes with Nero 7. Make it's not ticked during the install process, it's a load of junk.

No, you have to uninstall Nero 7 using Nero Clean Tool

    http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero7-tools-utilities.html

After that, you can install Nero 6 back.

Nero 6 and Nero 7 are almost the same, very few exceptions as far as the basics go, Nero 8 is huge and still buggy, out of all the Nero's I prefer 7.10.1.0, still available from www.filehippo.com as a trial version, (Nero 6 is still available as well,) you may want to update to the latest versions of Nero 6, and if you google thru the net "froogle" you can find it very cheap for the entire Nero 7 Suite, E.G. www.surpluscomputers.com for example.

Good luck trying the various "flavors of Nero" I hope that this helps.

As far as the lightscribe goes, you need to download the lightscribe plugin from lightscribe.com,
I had the same problem, until I downloaded the software plugin. I hope that this helps.

Ok I installed Nero 7 again see log below used the clean tool etc and did this disk I removed all the garbage etc with clone dvd but kept the menu reason I kept some of the extras at daughters request when I burned it with Nero and viewed the log got these error reports even though it said verification was successful watching the disk now seems ok are the errors because I striped out some of the garbage but kept the menus so the errors are reference to what isn’t there any more if you know what I mean? ps i know about the dma it says of but the burner i used is sata and is on
