your Nero version may be buggy! there is a better version of Nero 7.... 7.10.1.0........ Save your serial # then uninstall Nero! Use the cleaning tool: Nero7 Clean tool http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero7-tools-utilities.html do a registry clean up using this free cleaner: CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/download then do a defrag and reboot! now reinstall Nero 7.10.1.0: http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?2893 doesn't like your disk. this is crappy media.... and Nero and your drive doesn't recognize it..... use the good stuff that will increase your success rate: Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim! you should turn off MULTISESSION before you record! By not doing this you are not finalizing your disk so it will play properly! boy it really doesn't like your media! change it! try these changes first and then see if you have better success!
Thank you for the help. Ill dod that and see what happens. The disk has various clips from tv on it. I have a Toshiba dvd recorder that I use. In the past, I would make copies and then put the disk back in the dd recorder and finalize it (makes it compatiable for other dvd players) Im using Maxell DVD-R, 4.7 gb, 16x, 2 hrs Ive just noticed that the other disks I have used which have been successfully copied are Maxell DVD-R, 4.7 gb, 8x, 2 hrs Ill try yoursuggestion. you didn't change your media! still using crappy Prodis media! Get some Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden disks! your WinAspi layer is not showing! try this, version 4.71 from here - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm still doesn't like your disk...... for such a simple solution as to change your media and yet you won't do that!? why? you asked for help.... and it seems that Nero and your drive doesn't like your disk and yet you won't change it! hmmmmmmm me thinks you don't want to solve your problem.
YOU WERE RIGHT It was the disk that was the problem I noticed that the diskd I had used (and worked) was Maxell It was Memorex disks that didnt work Thansk for the help Mark (returning the external disk drive)
