nero 7 problem

    i'm trying to burn a vcd using nero 7 essential.i keep receiving "please insert an empty disc" error even there is a blank disc in it.this problem never happen before.
    here is a few info:
    i use HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4244N
    my firmware:IDE\CDROMHL-DT-ST_RW/DVD_GCC-4244N_______________1.02____\5&2DB186E&0&0.1.0
    i tried several CD-Rs but none work.
    please tell me what to do clearly(cos i not very good with tech)

    If you take a disk that has data on it, can you read the list of files on the disk using Windows Explorer.

    yes,my dvd-rom can read dvd normally

    If you insert a blank disk into the burner and Windows Explorer lists it as having ~700mB of free space, it would indicate that the burner is communicating with the software.

    Can Nero save the VCD image file to the hard drive instead of burning immediately?
    If so, use another program to try and burn the image file to the disk.

    ImgBurn is a burning program can write images to disk (on the main screen, select 'Write image file to disc'.

    i not really understand what u said? i insert the disc and it said that it has 0 byte free space,0 byte total sizes.
    i want to burn wmv files but imgburn doesn't support wmv files.also,i tried Ashampoo burning studio but it has the same "this disc isn't empty" problem as nero 7

    I HAVE NERO 7 AND IT WORKS, BUT LATELY IT TAKES 4 TO 5 HOURS TO TRANSCODE AND BURN TO DISK, PLEASE HELP!
