I've been using Nero 7 for awhile now with no problems.

I recently took a Family Movie and converted it to DVD and edited it with Sony Vegas. Its 2.15GB's. I watch it on the computer and the audio and picture is PERFECT. I rendered it as a WMV. file, played it on my computer and it worked FINE

Then I take it to Nero 7 Ultra Ed. to burn it to a DVD. I open the file and where it shows how much disc space it takes up, it says 4.17GB. So how does it go from 2.15 all the way to 4.17...but whatever, it fits the disc size. So I burn it, and when I play it on a DVD player or computer, the picture is perfect but there is no AUDIO.

Now when I edited it I added a couple Songs to play as backround music and those actually play on the disc but it sounds messed up.

EXAMPLE: I have The Ramones-Blitzkrig Bop playing in the backround during one scene and you can hear the vocals drums and bass but you CANNOT hear the guitar.

    So my problem is....

    - I have no AUDIO during my movie

    - I added two songs to play as backround music but the audio is distorted

What I've tried to fix it

    - Different DVD discs

    - Rendering the movie again with Sony Vegas

    - Changing a few settings in Nero

    These are my Nero settings.....

    Audio format: Automatic
    Sample format: Automatic
    Encoding mode: Fast Encoding (1-Pass)
    Nero SmartEncoding: Automatic

    Number of titles: 1
    1. Movie2 (Video Title, 1h 10m 40s)
    - Audio SmartEncoding ratio: 0.0 %
    - Video SmartEncoding ratio: 0.0 %

No luck, ANY ideas on what it could be. Im not a Computer Genius so please add noob details.

    THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!

have you done this sort of project before and was ok?

could be that rendered it as a WMV isnt a good type file for nero? try dvd flick (free) or convertxtodvd (not free) or change output file as avi not wmv

does the encoded 4 gig files play everthing after nero encode and before burning stage? you say WMV plays ok, but what about after nero before burn.

may need a codec pack installed for audio type, i think you can change audio output in nero AC3 2.1 / 5.1 etc, whats your setting? does your player play both types? may be on 5.1 and yourt player set at 2.1?

2.15 all the way to 4.17... 2.15 is WMV and 4.17 are vob/ifo/bup (converted size) dvd files for burning...

maybe post a log, but as you get a good burn as such may not see anything?

what I dont get is that is that when your creating the dvd, it shows a preview screen (DVD Remote Control). When I hit play it shows video and audio perfect. Then I hit continue > burn. But no audio, but I get picture.

I have used wmv files with nero before and all were sucessful

Again when I rendered the WMV video, the file works perfect (audio/video). But when I burn it with Nero it gives me no audio, but when I preview the file in Nero it plays audio. Im so lost
