I have Nero 7 Ultra Edition and I put in the installation CD into my drive and installed Nero 7 Ultra Edition but when I run StartSmart there's nothing inside of it. Also during the installation when it asks which extensions Nero should acquainted with, there was nothing on the list for any of the tabs. I've had Nero 7 Essentials up until I upgraded to Nero 7 Ultra Edition, if that helps at all. Nero 7 Essentials worked perfectly.
JonJon, I had the exact same problem last night. I purchased a new DVD Writer (Liteon). It came with Nero 7 essentials. During the installation process it indicated that my serial number (auto generated) entitled me to Nero 7 Ultra and asked if I would like to download. During the process it saw an older version and indicated it needed to un-install after the entire process I was left with NOTHING. Nero was no longer there. Thinking it was a fluke I re-did the entire process, you guessed it same thing. Next time I blew off the upgrade however everytime I clicked on a command within Nero it gave me the message I was entitled to an upgrade. So I un-installed it all and went back to Nero 6.6 but it would no longer work. After more in depth reading I found out that Nero had a cleaning procedure to clean off older versions. I ran it and re-installed 6.6 and it works. I have yet to clean using the Nero cleaner and try to reinstall Nero 7 but I don't think I will since Nero 6.6 Ultra worked great.
