I checked my burner to see if that was the case and it works fine. It will burn music cd's but not Dvd's. I've never had a problem with this before and I'm certainly not a novice at this. But this really has me stumped and I've checked and done everything I can think of. Hopefully someone has some assistance they can provide. I've tried using CloneDVD2, DVDShrink burning with Nero, DVD Decrypter and Nero 7 Ultra and none of them will burn them. So in the mean time, any help is appreciated.
some advice: 1. you have very little RAM.... 512 is the least amount to run Nero or other DVD burning software... upgrade your ram! 2. you have target set too high..... adjust target to no more than 4400MB! 3. uninstall INCD: Packet writing utilities such as "InCD" are notorious for interfering with burn processes, as the way it works is to continually poll the burner to check for new media. This prevents the burn application gaining exclusive access to the burner, and sense code errors will happen - every time. 4. do not set Nero to WRITE DISC AT ONCE.... you'll have less of a chance for success if there is an error and it can't correct and you'll waste a disc! try this advice and you should have success AGAIN.
Ok point taken on the RAM. I've uninstalled all dvd burning software and re-installed CloneDVD2 and still no burning. It encodes fine then tells me I have bad media. That's not possible since I've been burning these disc for some time now. Here's a question. I checked CloneDVD2's program file and found I have only 2 driver files; InstallHelp.dll and WriteDVD.dll....what's missing? Is it winaspi or winaspi32 or both or what?
This error is usually related to the media,poor quality. Recording errors often occur when the disc is dirty, or has fingerprints or scratches. If an error occurred during test simulation (before actual recording), clean the disc. If you are getting recording errors, try the following. * Use a different blank, recordable disc. * Use a different manufacturer's disc. * Ensure the disc is clean before recording: o Remove all fingerprints, dirt, and dust from the shiny side of your disc using a nonabrasive cloth with a mild, nonabrasive soap solution. o Wipe the disc from the center to the edge of the disc. o Dry the disc completely. 2. Error during file verification If an error occurred when the files were being verified, record the same files again using a different disc. 3. Read error when copying a disc When copying a disc, if an error occurred while reading data from the original disc, the original disc may be scratched or dirty. * Try cleaning the disc. o Remove all fingerprints, dirt, and dust from the shiny side of your disc using a nonabrasive cloth with a mild, nonabrasive soap solution. o Wipe the disc from the center to the edge of the disc. o Dry the disc completely. * Try using a different source drive. o To change the drive you use to read your disc, click the Change button when asked to insert a source disc into your drive tray. o Select the drive you wish to use from the drop-down menu. o Insert your disc into the new drive. * Try using copying the disc using one drive as both the source and destination drive. When you use your recorder to both read and write to your disc, B's Recorder GOLD creates an image file of the entire disc to your hard drive and then copies that temporary file onto your blank disc. Yeah, thanks for replies. I'd tried those things suggested already, as I'd said, I'm not a novice at this. With the exception of checking with the manufacturer regarding the error codes, all else was tried (that I could think of). Just gonna buy a new burner and call it a day. I have another PC with a burner and the media burns fine on it. P.S. Good lookin out on the Thread HiJacker! Thanks again to all who submitted replies.
