I have Nero version 8.2.8.0 and am trying to use NeroVision5 to make a dvd of my favorite tv shows. When I get to the part where you can customize the DVD menu I added a background music file. It worked fine on the following preview screen, but when I actually got the dvd burned, there was no background music on the menu screen. Has anyone else had this problem or have ideas on how to fix it?
not to sure on this, but jumping in to keep an eye on this thread, thx -------- can you hear it on pc play useing the dvd disc? -------- got anero log file to read..
I am not able to here any music when I play the DVD on my computer. I have also tried it on two different DVD players with the same result. I do have a log file. Is there a way to attach it to a post on this forum ? I could paste the whole thing into a post, but I'm not sure that is a good idea since it is a good size file.
I've tryed several times to copy my nero log onto a post and all my computer does is sit there and sit there and sit there and sit there...well you get the idea. I'll be happy to email it to anyone who wants to take a look at it. Or if anyone knows another way to get the log file posted here... Sorry, I'm still new to this forum.
I upgraded to newest version, and I still have no backgroud audio plus the aspect ratio is messed up on my video. I reinstalled my older version and the aspect ratios were fine. Does Nero really know how to improve their software? Sorry just venting. One thing I did notice, when I played used Nero Showtime, the time on the main menu screen advanced exactly as long as the audio file was set to play and then restarted. Apparently the audio file settings (and maybe the file) are there, its just that the audio is not playing. Rotary, was there a reason you sent me the log file?
Hi KevinA76, The best is to stay with nero 7, stay away from nero 8 the worst nero I ever came across. If you stick with nero 7 the bug is only tiny. If you upgrade to nero 8 you are putting your head in the bigger beehives with a lot more Queenbees in it. Nero 7 and Nero 8 did not work with the past dvdshrink..only nero 6 if you are using dvdshrink.. I have tried nero 8, the worst nightmare...I ever had before...cant get rid of it totally even you are using the cleanup software from Ahead.. In the end, I have to format my whole harddisk... Think twice, be safe rather than sorry. A lot of people here in afterdawn used nero 8 as a burning engine is ok but not the conversion part or making dvd parts.. Think twice before you proceed to nero 8 not always the latest version software is the best one in fact the latest one will have more bugs that create more troubles for you..
^ probably very true ^ last time i did yout project with sound in menus i used v6 im just looking into Cyberlink PowerDirector, but not had time to play yet... i put link up for others to read, i couldnt see anything when i looked through other may do.
Wanted to let you know that I came up with a work around to my problem. I noticed that the animated 2d and 3d menu templates were working just fine, including background music. They use .mpg as background music and background image. So I tried using Nero Vision to make a slide show with music background that I could convert to a mpg and use for menu background. Unexpectedly (at least in retrospect) Nero vision created a movie with an image just fine, but would not convert the mp3 or wav file into a working soundtrack. I suspect that Nero uses the same or similar code for both the slide show w/ music and the menu background image w/ music and thus have the same problem. So I used Windows Movie Maker, which I think comes standard on XP, and created a picture slideshow with music as an AVI file. I was then able to use Nero Vision to convert the AVI to an MPG. This file did convert properly and worked perfectly as both a background image and background music in my menu screen. I don't know if this will help anyone else, but makes me feel a little less like I wasted my money!!!
