    This is driving me nuts!!!

    I have XP SP2 P4 1 gig RAM

Recently for some reason some components of Nero 8 Ultra won't load. They just stopped loading
I get the splash screen 2 secs and then nothing. No processes running either
The ones that won't load are sound related

    WaveEditor
    Soundtrax
    Showtime

I have uninstalled twice, cleaned everything out with the Nero General Clean Tool twice and reinstalled twice. All I can think is some windows upgrade or other upgrade has killed something that Nero hooks into.

    Any help gratefully received

PS I have GOM installed and WinAmp

Are you using the latest version of Nero 8?

    Thanks for replying

Yes I am using the latest version.

Its getting even nuttier. I ran process explorer-sysinternals and then ran showtime. It loaded!!!! though it took a lot of CPU time 45% when running (not showing or playing anything)

Haven't been able to run it again!!! even though I tried to recreate the same environment.

Nero have responded to an email and I ran their diagnostic tool and sent the info back to them so I am waiting to hear.

    Its working OK now.

Not sure how but as I was without a wave editor I donwloaded and installed some free ones Audacity3 and WAVE MP3 editor. I also loaded the k-lite codec pack which found some nero links that were wrong- missing files- and deleted the registry keys to them.
I then ran Nero Wave editor but it didn't run. I then uninstalled -yet again- NEro and reinstalled and now it works OK!!!
