I'd like to know if anyone can help me solve this? I'm using Nero8 to edit my tiff, jpg and thm images. In previous nero versions, the thumbnails images are retained but in the nero 8, the thumbnails just show the nero icon. How can i change this to the normal picture thumbnail?
In My Computer, go to the folder where the files are, highlight one, click on View, up above, then click on Thumbnails.
I think they may be refering to Nero taking over Icon picture views, so if say you are trying to change the icon on a folder to one of the icons you have saved, you choose to change the icon and then go to the folder containing icons and instead of seeing little pictures of each icon they all have a Nero Icon so you can't see which one you want to choose. Now, if I just go to the icon file itself, then I can choose the thumbnail view and see them- it's just from the change icon feature that it does it. I found in the Nero help that you run Nero photo viewer, go to file then file adjustment and you have the option to check or uncheck Nero operating things like JPEG, GIF or ICO, but every time I'd uncheck ICO it wouldn't change and I'd come back and it's still checked. I even unchecked everything but same result. Finally I uninstalled Nero but they still were left with Nero set to open them and I went to Control Panel then Folders and tried setting Paint or Windows Photo Viewer, but no matter what I do ICO pictures still show the Nero Icon. It's like it's been permanently burned into my system. I've been searching for an answer on the internet and this is the closest I've come and still no answer. I definitely won't be loading Nero back in after it's messed up things like this!
