I've just updated from Nero 6 to Nero 8. I have several hundreds of Quicktime files I want to put together in movies to burn a DVD. With Nero 8 some (not all) of the movies come out without any sound when either played on Nero Show Time or when imported to Nero Vision to create the movie. The movies play ok in Windows Media, Quicktime, Real Player, etc. This is the basic information of a file that "works" and a file that "doesn't work" (according to the Quicktime Player) This file works: MPEG-4, 640x480, miu-law 2:1, Mono, 16 Khz, 30.17 fps This file does not work: Foto JPEG, 640 x 480, miu-law 2.1, Mono, 8 Khz, 15.00 fps Clearly the file type (MPGEG vs Foto JPEG) seems to be the big difference. Any ideas?
hmm, interesting also whats different is: which are the audio 16 Khz 8 Khz ----------- 30.17 fps 15.00 fps but apart from that it looks like nero doesnt have a codec for foto jpeg type audio as you say the video on both are seen. perhaps nero doesnt like 8khz you must have the codec on your pc for players to see it, just nero hasnt. drop the file into gspot see what info it goes you there. also try updating quicktime/codecs did nero v6 work? may need to convert the file in another app to a recognized file for nero...
That's what frustrates me. Nero 6 used to work just fine with those movies. gspot tries the same codec combination for both files, but the one that doesn't work on Nero, doesn't seem to work on gspot either. This is the audio codec information I've got from gspot: - - Type DSH - - Function Splitter DSH 4CC Stream DSH Friendly Name Nero MP4 Splitter DSH DirectShow CLSID {E5DE60A7-8C6A-4D84-8F6E-DDA41935161E} FIL File Description MP4 Splitter Filter FIL Company Name Nero AG FIL File Version 5, 3, 9, 0 FIL Legal Copyright Copyright 2007 Nero AG and its licensors FIL Original Filename NeMP4Splitter.ax FIL Product Name Nero ShowTime FIL Product Version 1, 11, 2, 0 REG Driver File C:\Archivos de programa\Archivos comunes\Nero\DSFilter\NeMP4Splitter.ax REG Merit 0x00600000 - - Type DSH - - Function Decoder DSH Friendly Name Nero QuickTime(tm) Audio Decoder DSH DirectShow CLSID {05E032C2-C4D8-4F21-8272-5179BAAE41B7} FIL File Description QuickTime(tm) Decoder Wrapper FIL Company Name Nero AG FIL File Version 5, 3, 9, 0 FIL Legal Copyright Copyright 2007 Nero AG and its licensors FIL Product Name Nero Suite FIL Product Version 1, 3, 0, 0 REG Driver File C:\Archivos de programa\Archivos comunes\Nero\DSFilter\NeQTDec.ax REG Merit 0x00400000 - - Type REND - - Function Renderer DSH 4CC PCM DSH Friendly Name Default DirectSound Device DSH DirectShow CLSID CLSID_DSoundRender {79376820-07D0-11CF-A24D-0020AFD79767} FIL File Description Archivo de tiempo de ejecuciĆ³n de DirectShow.
